3 Ways to Organize Your Brain and 1 Weekly System That Will Change Your Life

In this post, you’re going to learn 3 effective strategies to organize your brain (and life) and the weekly system that I can’t live without.

You’re going to instantly feel:

  • Less overwhelmed

  • More organized

  • Like taking action

  • & one step closer to overcoming negative self-talk

So if you want to make sure you don’t leave any of your potential untapped, you’re going to LOVE this blog post.

Let’s dive right in!

Begin your workday with a 5 min clean up.

I usually do this at the beginning of my work day, because my schedule is never the same and sometimes I gotta run out of my office after a call to get to my next appointment. So before I start working, I allocate 5 min tidying up, getting my water & organizing myself. When you have clutter all around you, it creates frustration. You will be able to stay much more focused and on task when you have a clean environment around you.

End your workday by identifying tomorrow’s Top 3.

Now that you’re done working or wrapping your evening work block with your new side hustle, its time to set yourself up for success for tomorrow. Start writing out your top 3 tasks for the next day, shut all your tabs & then open the tab you’ll need for the first task on your list.

This one has been a game-changer for me. After I clean my area up, when I sit down, I don’t have to think about what to do and get side tracked by things like my email or Slack channel. I know what i’m doing, the tab is there and I get right to it!

Keep a celebration journal next to your bed.

You might be wondering how this contributes to being organized. This celebration journal helps with your MINDSET about how you’re spending your days. I used to go to bed feeling bad thinking I got nothing is done, which impacted my sleep and made me less effective overall. If you’re not feeling good about yourself, you’re not optimizing your potential. Before I go to bed, I jot down the things I did as a CELEBRATION for what I accomplished. This keeps my mindset strong and empowered.

& the life-changing system I do weekly NO MATTER WHAT without fail:

CEO Sunday

I personally do this on Sunday, but you can do it when it makes sense for you.

Heres MY process.

Take what feels good and leave what doesn’t!

Adapt it to fit your lifestyle:

  1. I brain dump all my to-do items on paper. This might be errands, home, and personal stuff, tasks for my business, client follow-ups, who I’m having a coaching call with that week etc.

  2. Then I sit down with my planner, and schedule out the following:

    • My workouts (purple)

    • My self-care time (yellow)

    • Working IN my business & money-making tasks (green)

    • Personal Development/Tasks FOR my business - (blue)

    • 3-hour time block towards my ONE thing - red

    • Personal tasks - pink (fun fact I hate running errands so you will barely see pink in my calendar lol)

    • Other biz stuff - for me that’s podcast recordings, creating content, etc (orange)

  3. I take the corresponding colored high lighter and shade it in.

  4. I transfer this to my digital calendar and have that color-coded as well.

  5. I THROW AWAY my to-do list!

Now every day I know what my day looks like, and as I mentioned in number 2, I will write out my top 3 tasks for the next day at the end of every workday. So if something didn’t get done, I don’t forget about it, I schedule it the next day.

The most important piece of this is that I don’t work off my to-do list.

Everything that needs to get done that week is scheduled in my planner. Often times when working off a to-do list, we get more focused on being busy rather than actually getting those things marked off. If your to-list is a mile long, then that can make you feel overwhelmed and you’re less likely to take action because you dont know where to start.

Take those tips, put them into action, and you will have a roadmap towards your goals every week :)
