Ep. 018 Reprogramming Your Negative Mindset with Jodi

In this special edition of Your Highest Self I coach Jodi through her mindset and teach her how her unconscious thoughts are the root of her problems. This episode is about learning how to spot the unconscious negative thoughts and change them so you can stop binging, stop stressing & become more grounded & lead a healthy lifestyle with love.

Jodi gets really raw with us- she takes us through the dark times she went through last year. She reflects on where her mindset was at last year, achieving her goal weight, working out all the time (to avoid her pain), but realized how incredibly unhappy she was. She has made progress, but still doesn’t always have a positive body image. 

This episode is different than ones I’ve done in the past. I walk Jodi through this fear she currently has about returning to the gym and what might happen if she goes back on a more restrictive food plan. We use the thought model to navigate through her negative thoughts and then create a positive conscious thought model.

The thought model starts with a circumstance and the thought about that circumstance makes the thought positive or negative. 

  1. What is your circumstance?

  2. What are the thoughts surrounding that circumstance?

  3. How are these thoughts making you feel?

  4. What actions or inactions are associated with these feelings?

  5. What is the result of your action or inaction?

This is the unconscious thought model. Your struggles are directly related to this. Your thoughts directly create the results in your life. 

Now you need to create a new positive, conscious thought model. You can work backwards using the same questions. The focus this time is on what your desires are. 

  1. What do you want your circumstance to be?

  2. How do you need to feel to make this circumstance a reality?

  3. What thoughts do you need to have?

  4. What actions do you need to take to create this circumstance?

  5. What will the result be after you’ve incorporated these actions?
