Ep. 019 How to Transition to Intuitive Eating from Tracking Macros

What if you could seamlessly transition from tracking Macros or being on a meal plan, to having complete freedom and eat intuitively? Sounds great, right?

In this week’s episode of Your Highest Self podcast, I review with you my top two methods for transitioning into intuitive eating- the EAT method and the #143method.

In the EAT method, we have three distinct factors that play into eating intuitively. E is for enjoy what you eat. It’s important to be enjoying the things you put in your system- not just eating them because they’re healthy. A is all about abundance mindset. You have to believe that you will always have the ability to eat this food again. This helps avoid the urge to binge because you know you’ll get again- there’s always food at your next meal. T is for three key habits. Instead of referring to them as rules, if they are habits, they are benefiting your life style. One of my key habits is drinking 100 oz of water daily. I see the benefits of this and so it is a habit I’ve developed.

The other method is the #143method. You have 1 plate with 4 components (protein, fat, carbs, and fiber), 3 times a day. This allows you to pick and choose what goes on your plate, but if you stick to these 4 main components, you’ll be eating a balanced meal.

The other big key factor, and one often overlooked, you have to be willing to gain some weight. Your body is readjusting to this new way of eating, but if you go all in, eventually your body will be back to having the ability to lose weight in a healthy way.
