Ep. 009 How to Find Food Freedom & NOT Eat All the Things

Have you been wondering, “Why do some food freedom accounts support eating whatever/whenever and as much of it as you want? Does this mean that balance (which is not what they are encouraging) is bad? I'm so confused, I thought balance was good!”? You’re not the only one!

When it comes down to it, it really is about who you are choosing to invest your time in- both in real life and on social media. The first thing you need to do is develop a filter for your social media. Not all accounts will appeal to you and have info in your best interest.! Develop a filter and only let into your life what is important for you. People are always talking to themselves, so not everything will be relevant to you and that’s okay!

Let’s breakdown what Food Freedom actually is. Food freedom is not being deprived but also not eating everything either. There is definitely a balance.How do we do this? By using my EAT method. With this, you Enjoy your food, have an Abundance mindset, and work with Three key habits. You need to like what you eat- if you don’t, it will lead to binging. An Abundance mindset, you enter into this state that there will always be more food tomorrow. The Three key habits are the same habits that will get them down to their goals everyday. 

Those who are using the methods mentioned in the comments are missing the mark- it’s not about the food. Often times binging and emotional eating comes from using food as a coping mechanism. So just eating what you want is only a layer of the overall problem. We need to be learning to emotionally process without food and learning that your weight and body is not the fix to your low self esteem.

Ultimately, you will want to be creating balance. You don’t find balance, you create it. If you're regularly binging, it’s up to you to figure out  what the diet mentality trigger might be. If you over restrict, you need to figure out what your fear around food might be. On your journey to food freedom you have to give up control over your body and food.
