How Journaling Can Shift Your Body Image with Paula

In this episode, I’m talking to Paula about her journey with fitness & how shes utilized my 30 Days to Self Love & Purpose journal prompts to shift her mindset about her body. I think many of you will relate to Paula’s story about how she was spending so much time meal prepping and following a meal plan, & even though she looked great externally and got so many compliments, she didn’t feel good about herself. From there she started a new job and gained back a lot of weight due to stress. It wasn’t until she started journaling that she made a real shift in her self-love and feeling good about herself.

When she started journaling, she saw results fairly quickly (like within two weeks). She started journaling so she could focus on something other than her body and she saw it as a way to love herself beyond what she looked like. Some of the biggest things she  mentioned that made a difference was writing it down and then reading it outloud to herself allowed herself to believe these new things about herself. 

Some of the biggest keys to Paula’s success with the journal prompts were the following things:

  • Setting a timer and giving herself at least 15 minutes each day

  • Doing the prompts in the morning

Some of Paula’s big take aways from journaling and our coaching session:

  • Viewing her body as a temple

  • Treating her body with kindness

  • Eating food to nourish her body

  • True happiness is not through a diet

  • Stress can actually cause you to gain weight

  • You are not just one body part, you are a sum of all your body parts and so much more than that
