Client Case Study: From Building Her Body to Building Her Dream

I’m excited to bring you a new type episode today and pull the curtains on one of my amazing clients, Jo Tacorda. Jo has been a client of mine since early 2018, I’ve seen her transform into a competitor and now an entrepreneur as we have continued to evolve her coaching program with me from a fitness and nutrition client to a business mentee.

Jo initially started working with me to work on nutrition and health and ultimately to do a bikini pro show. When asked, though, why she decided to do a pro show, it was more about doing it for personal empowerment and femininity. Well, in her first show, she did it- she won first place and gained her pro card. Once she won, she was so incredibly proud of herself. It didn’t last long, though. Once she left the competition, it was hard to reintegrate back into her life and she didn’t end up with the self fulfillment she was looking for.

Like so many women I work with, Jo struggled post competition. Even though she did everything right and trained in the best way possible, she still came out with issues she didn’t have before, such as body dysmorphia. Once she was willing to tap into her feminine energy, she started to heal.

As Jo put it in our interview, when she was in this place of not knowing what was next, the only thing she knew how to do was invest in herself. It was at that point that I was opening up a new round of Mindset Makeover Academy. In this program, Jo really began to heal from the inside out and started to chase a dream instead of a body image. When I asked her what the catalyst for pursuing her secret dream was, she said it was a journal entry. The journal prompt was: “If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you do?” The story she had been telling herself is that she couldn’t do it, but it was through this thought process, she started pursuing this dream!

It was really through her journey of self care and doing Mindset Makeover Academy, that she learned to love herself and was willing to accept her pursuit of her dreams. It was after discovering all of these secret dreams, that I told her she couldn’t be my assistant coach anymore because her dreams were too big.

Jo is now working to pursue those big, secret dreams. I can’t wait to see what she does.
