There is a dark side to competing that you don’t see often. You only really know about it if you lived it. Its the feeling of shame after a binge. Its putting on your biggest pair of leggings to go to the gym because the small clothes you bought on prep no longer fit. Its avoiding the camera & posting old #throwback pics because you just don’t feel lean enough.

If you’ve ever felt any of this you are def not alone. I think 95% of people who go through a prep experience a version of their own post comp reality. Most people just don’t talk about it because come one.. who wants to admit to feeling low & out of control.

Don’t get me wrong, I think competing is an amazing goal. I love the community of woman who support eachother and I love the feeling of joy on show day celebrating your hard work. But not enough women are talking about what happens after. Not enough coaches are telling their clients what to expect & how to handle it. Worse yet, there are still a ton of coaches out there putting girls on extreme diets for the sake of a trophy & then leaving them to fend for themselves post comp.
