Do You Like What You See in the Mirror Right Now?
An important question to ask yourself before you embark on a journey to the stage... Do you like what you see in the mirror right now?
On the left is how I looked doing back to back shows. On the right is how I look now. Some people are genetically suited for competing and can stay relatively lean all year, but just to speak for myself I’m def not!
I really had to ask myself this question and understand this👉🏼unless you are going to live a life revolving around hard training sessions, timed meals & specific macros, the body you are looking at now is probably going to be the body you are likely to be in 3-6 months after you compete.
To think stage condition is your new normal is not healthy or realistic! If you are as lean as you should be for stage then it will cause a cascade of unhealthy reactions physically, mentally & emotionally!
For awhile it was hard for me to see all the lines & definition blur out but here is what I’ve learned & hope it helps you: remove the idea that there is a “prep you” & “offseason you”. You are still the same person and the main focus should be being a healthy you. True sustainable confidence & happiness will come from the inside & never ever from the outside🖤💪🏼
